   resolution; which was referred to the Committee on Ways and Means

                         CONCURRENT RESOLUTION


 
Expressing the sense of the Congress that the current link between the 
levels of earnings allowed for blind individuals entitled to disability 
 insurance benefits and the exempt amounts allowed for purposes of the 
    social security earnings test for individuals who have attained 
                  retirement age should be maintained.

    Resolved by the House of Representatives (the Senate concurring), 
That it is the sense of the Congress that, in considering legislation 
providing for increases in exempt amounts allowed for purposes of the 
social security earnings test under section 203(f)(8) of the Social 
Security Act for individuals who have attained retirement age, the 
Congress should ensure that the equivalency currently provided 
between--
            (1) such exempt amounts, and
            (2) the levels of earnings allowed under section 223(d)(4) 
        of such Act, for individuals entitled to disability insurance 
        benefits based on blindness, without demonstrating substantial 
        gainful activity,
will be maintained.
