    Mr. Linder, from the Committee on Rules, submitted the following

                       [To accompany H. Res. 79]

    The Committee on Rules, having had under consideration 
House Resolution 79, by a record vote of 7 to 2, report the 
same to the House with the recommendation that the resolution 
be adopted.

                summary of provisions of the resolution

    The resolution provides for the consideration of S.J. Res. 
6, providing for congressional disapproval of the rule 
submitted by the Department of Labor relating to ergonomics, 
under a closed rule. The rule waives all points of order 
against consideration of the joint resolution and provides one 
hour of debate equally divided and controlled by the chairman 
and ranking minority member of the Committee on Education and 
the Workforce. Finally, the rule provides for one motion to 
recommit.
